Unfortunately for me looks like I’ll be getting induced again because my next appointment is late in the afternoon the day before my induction date so I don’t think there’s really enough time for a sweep to take before I go in for my induction the following morning. Everyone has their own views but in my opinion it’s always best for things to go as natural as possible and it’s the step before having to be induced. ![]() Although I’m going off of my long, difficult, painful delivery and recovery of my first I could not imagine a sweep ever being close to the pain of labor or recovery itself. My doctor always says I handle them well and that for some people it can be painful. Ever since I have been progressively getting worse abdominal/back pain/tightness. Depending on the location of your cervix, a doctor may have to reach farther into your vagina to do the membrane. Your doctor may tell you to expect discomfort during the procedure. This pregnancy I had one two days ago at 40+4 (not looking successful at 48hr mark) and this one was the most uncomfortable but no more uncomfortable than a cervical exam but ended up with some spotting and a little cramping afterward.
